Eustis is a farming and ranching community with a population of 460. Eustis is full of friendliness and rich German heritage, with this celebrated with day long activities during Wurst Tag or Sausage Day each year on the second Saturday of June. Eustis is a great place to live and features an excellent school system.

Annual Craft Fair
Eustis is host to an annual craft fair the first Saturday in November. 80 plus vendors display their finest works in three locations. (you hunt-send the spouse to the fair)

Haus (German for sausage house) this grocery or market is
famous for the sausages that Gregg Wolf (third generation family
ownership) and crew prepare daily. Products are 100% made on site
and you will find no other to compare. This is a must stop for
hard tack, summer, braut, wiener, liver and polish with other
choices available. Gregg ships nationally and would be glad

The Eustis Pool Hall is just what the
name states. This restaurant with it's unique decor is a renovated
pool hall from the early 1900’s that offers a full menu with
Mexican specialties and "one of a kind margaritas." They
also offer "Upper Crust" pizza in the evenings. (They
are celebrating their 102nd anniversary) Contact Lynn, Todd,

The
Der Deutsche Markt (be careful how you pronounce this one)
is a unique German gift shop. You won't be disappointed in
their selection or quality. If you need a special gift for
the spouse or other special occasion, your sure to find it here.
(This is a great place to purchase "bait" so you can
return for another hunt) They also offer baked German foods and
Wurst Haus sausage products are available also. They are
open October-December and May-June or by appointment. Give

Thirsty after a good day’s hunt? The
Darn-Small Pub offers a full service bar with a friendly
atmosphere. This facility is located in the old Pioneer bank. The
old vault now serves as the cooler. Gaylord, Brian, Kathy and

Still thirsty? The Schnapps Haus (by
now you know haus means house) is a widely stocked beverage store
offering your favorites. They also offer homemade (right
here in Eustis) pretzels. These are not the pretzels you are
most likely thinking of. These are a soft, doughy, delicious
snack. Again our ancestry shines through as the recipe came

Our local Senior Citizens Center offers homemade noodles. These are made from scratch by our seniors and you will not find anything like these at your local supermarket. Contact Cindy at 486-3471.
The
Village Pie Maker offers old-fashioned, made from scratch
pies just like your grandmother made. The light flaky
crust is homemade as well as the best ingredients. Owner

Eustis 66 Service is a full service
filling station. Fuel to flats is their business. Located under
the water tower. Ed, Dan and Brent are available for your

even fix a flat on a Sunday)
A and T Auto, a NAPA dealer or the Eustis
Body Shop can assist in any parts or repairs that may occur
on your visit. Call Andrew or Tanya at (486-3241) or Joe at the

with these nice people)
Our local bank (First Bank and Trust Co) can assist in those times when cash is running low with their
A.T.M and they also offer all hunting permits. (Yea, I know
there bankers, but they 're a pretty good bunch)
Village Apothecary (another one of
those fancy names) (I don't know what it means and I'm afraid to
ask) is our local pharmacy and they will be glad to assist, if the

Bird Watching: Sandhill Crane, Bald Eagle and Geese Migration
It is estimated that 80% of the world's population of sandhill cranes stops in Nebraska on their way north. Some 500,000 plus cranes travel through the central Nebraska area each spring usually around the March 1 time period and continuing until around April 15. Military Museums and Other Attractions
A special note to Veterans and others interested in the history of our Armed Forces: North Platte has a newly constructed 20th Century Veterans' Memorial just south of the I-80 interchange. It is a really nice facility honoring our Veterans. It is "fitting" that this is located in North Platte as this is home to the famous second World War canteen http://npcanteen.tripod.com/canteen/ that served 6 million plus traveling by troop train on their way to serve their country. It all began on Christmas day, 1941. Every day for four years, volunteers served sandwiches, cakes, cookies, hard-boiled eggs, doughnuts, coffee and milk to each troop train that at the canteen.
Lexington also offers the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles www.heartlandmuseum.com located just north of the I-80 interchange. It is a growing museum displaying many types of military vehicles.
Other area attractions include the Robert Henri Museum, Cozad; Pony Express Station, Gothenburg; Dancing Leaf Earth Lodge, Wellfleet; Scout's Rest Ranch, North Platte; Fort Kearney, Great Platte River Archway Monument http://www.archway.org , University of Nebraska and Tri-City Arena all located in Kearney.
