Nebraska WeatherWeather Information and Recommended Equipment

Weather here can be unpredictable and can vary from warm and sunny to cold, cloudy, drizzly or snowy. Wind can also be a factor on how you should dress. The majority of the time the weather is favorable for a good hunt. We suggest that water proof clothing be included in your pack especially footwear. Cold, wet feet do take the enjoyment out of a hunt. Dressing in layers in also recommended as the cool mornings can quickly turn into warm afternoons. Hunter orange is recommended for safety and is required when hunting deer during firearm and muzzleloader  seasons.

Early season pheasant hunters and late season turkey hunters need to be aware of the possibility of rattlesnakes.  Please take precautions for yourself and your dog(s).  Chances are slim that you will encounter a rattlesnake but we want you to be aware.

You will experience an environment featuring wide open spaces with an abundance of clean fresh air with miles of scenery to enjoy you freedom.  Another advantage to our area is our high average of sunlight hours.  Our part of Nebraska averages more hours of sunlight per day than anywhere north or east of this location.  In other words, when you are "shopping" for a hunt in the "pheasant belt" of America, your chances of enjoying a favorable weather day are greater at our location than most other locations in the major pheasant populated areas.
